"Wellington, June 1. The Government are issuing detailed lists of each Gontißgen.t, witto games,
| addresses, occupation, and names and ' addresses of next-of-kin. From these I returns it appears that the actual number pf men who sailed for South Africa is as. follows:—First Contingent, 213; l Second, including 39 of a gun detach--ment, 258; Third, 261; Fourth, 461; Fifth, including 69 reserves and two who sailed inihe Tropea, 594; total, 1787. :
