The Hon. the Minister for Mines, who has just returned from a visit to j the South Island, expresses the opinion that there is a great future before the industry. He is also convinced of the necessity for new gold mining regulations, and it is his intention to take steps in that direction next session. His visit to the North Island districts will be delayed until after the meeting of Parliament.
