Captain Rochford hauled up anchor and endeavoured to get the vessel out to sea but she drifted ashore in a bad position. Oaptaia Harrison in the S.B. Pilot stood by and attempted to tow her off, but the line parted. The present voyage of the Warrior has been an unfortunate one) She met a hard gale after leaving Kaipara Heads and was blown right out of her course, putting into Nelson for provisions, and water. She had three logs washed overboard daring the gale. The Warrior is owned by Jas. Harrison and three other*.
