QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS.
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Palmebston Nokth, May 24, The weather to-day was unfavourable for the holiday. The only loyal demonstration made w?3 by the volunteers, who fired a feu dejoie. Dukedin, May 24, fine weather was experienced for the holiday. The winter show was the attraction for most of the country visitors, and there was a veiy large attendance thoughout the afternoon. Auckland, May 24. To-day was obsorved as a' clcreo holiday. The usual Queen's Birthday review wa9 held in tile morning, and the Queen's siatue decorated iu honour of the occasion. In the afternoon the • usual L jveo was held at Government House. Tuts Veterans, under Captain Richardson, formed a npecia! Guard of Honour in the ballroom where the Levee was held. Aft 6 ! 1 the Levee the Countess of Ranfurly presented a handsome silver cup to Mvjor White, officier commanding iNo. 1 Batfalion (Countess of Ranfurley'.s own), for company competition t'> prtmoto good.; shooting, Auckland, May 24. The Governor has sent to the Socreiary of (State for the Go'onies the following cablegram: " I ospoctfully offer to Her Majesty the iiost loyal and loving greetings from tha devoted subjects in New Zealand m Her Birthday,—Ranfurly.
