WINTER SHOW.

[PHB PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, May 24. The Otago A. and P. Society's Win* ter Show was opened to-day by the Hon. J. G. Ward, Acting Premier, before a large attendance of the public. The display is quite equal to that of former years in most respects. There was a splendid collection of fat sheep. S, Garfot th (Christchurch) took first for best pen of fremrs; Acton Estate (Bakaia) took championship for best pen of Down Grosses; and Edendale Estate for Crossbred Glass; while John Tongh took the prize for heaviest pan in fat cattle. There was quality among the small entry—W. F. M, Buckley took first j W. S. Mitchell. 2 i. and S. ft, Merrett, 3. There was a fine display of cheese. The Seaward Downs Factory (Wyndliain) scored heavily, winning the- prize for best tea cwt. Full Cream Cheddar (coloured); J. 0. Clarke, 2; and tke German B iy Company 3, Seacard Downs Factory was also first for ten cwt. White, with Tokonui 2, md Eiendalo 3. Seaward Downs wss lirat and see ind for John McNairn'e Uhtlfonge Cup for ten cwt. Full Orocm Uheddar. For bes; two Che 810, S lit* ible for export, Kaikoura Factory was first; Tokonui, 2 ; J. 0.
