LAND BOARD.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present: Messrs. Kelly, Heslop, and Stock. The Hon. Thos. Kelly, in the [absence of the Commissioner, occupied the chair. Reid, 0.r.p.; section 3, block 7, Mimi, 160 acres, W. J. Wright, 1.i.p.; sections 18 and 19, block 4, Mimi, 202 acres, W. Lovell, 1.i.p.; section 24, block 5, Ngatimaru, 445 acres, A. 0. Upson, 0.r.p.; section 5, block 12, Opaku, 261 acres, Ohas. Dickie, 0.r.p.; section 20, block 2, Omona, 200 acres, Donald Lain, 0.r.p.; section 10, block 5, Egmont, 210 acres, H. J. Blanchett, jnr., o.r.p, ; section 8, block 5, Egmont, 212 acres, A. M. Veale, 0.r.p,; section 9, block 5, Upper Waitara, 385 acres, R. H. George, cash; section 6, block 8, Mimi, 102 acres, A. Consent was given to the following transfers Ann Fookes to Alexander Howie, sections 9, 33, 34, block 16, I Opaku; Geo. T. Fookes to Alexander Howie, section 8, block 16, Opaku; Martin Hartigan to John Hartigan, section 14, block 2, Ngatimaru; Geo. Lorimer to T. L. Lockton, section 10, block 9, Ngatimaru; Matthews and i Nairn to McOarty and Hunger, s.g. run 6, Opaku. A, McPhee's application to transfer section 10, block 11, Ngaire, to John J. Sommers was refused, owing to the section not being contiguous to that held by Mr. Sommers. Upon payment of rent in arrear, A. E. Eyles is to be allowed to surrender section 13, block 13, Mahoe. E. Hohneck having declined the offer of section 83, block 16, Pouatu, it was decided to offer the same for selection, weighted with improvements. The Ranger's report on the value of the cottage removed from section 2 to section 1, block 4, Mimi, was adopted. Michael Burgess applied to surrender his lease of section 75, block 6, Ngaire, and for the grant of a new lease for 21 years.—The Ranger is to report on the present capital value of the land and of the improvements effected. The Waiwakaiho Road Board's proposals for expenditure of .£37 14s sd, accrued thirds, were approved. Mr. Stanners, road inspector, reported that the main seam of shell rock on the Rawhitoroa Road was on section 6, block 11, Omona, —It was decided that a survey of the deposit be made, and a sufficient area reserved for a gravel pit. On the Commissioner's report that Mr. G. Death had not made application for section 264, Patea district, it was decided that thelEnd be offered to Mrs. Muir in the terms of the Ranger's report. , The Board rose.
