LAND BOARD.

The Land Board met on Monday. Present: Messrs. Strauchon, Kelly, Stock, and Heslop. Land applied for since last meeting was Sections 15 and 19, block 4. Ngatimaru, 510 acres, Jas. Thompson, 0.R.5.; and section 12, block 7, Cape, 171 acres 2 roods, E. O. and E. G. Meredith, O.R.P.

Owing to the payment by J. McCluggage of .£lO for removal of house ■from section 6, block 1, Mahoe, the price of that section was reduced accordingly. Messrs. Kelly and O'Halloran accepted the Board's offer of sections adjoining their respective holdings. Consent was given to the transfer by E. Watson of section 20, block 4, Ngatimaru, to James Thompson. Permission was given to W. Newland to transfer section 17, block 16, Egmont, to Benj. Crofskez. John Fraser was granted the freehold of section 25, block 3, Ngaire, j The provisional title to section 4, block 12, Mimi, was granted to R. H. George. Three months' extension of time to comply with residence conditions was granted to Thos. Walsh, J, Blomfield, and D. and T. Green.

Sections 4 and 8, block 1, Mimi, held by the representatives of John Fearon, deceased, were declared forfeited.

Section 32, block 8, Waimate, was divided into three parts, the central portion to be set apart as a gravel reserve and the other portions to be dealt with after survey. J. W, Espin is to be called upon to show cause why he has not fulfilled the conditions as to section 23, block 11, Ngaire.

W.N. Jenkins's explanation as to residence on section 36, block 15, Ngaire, was accepted. An application by T. Barrowman for reduction of price of section 2, block 7, Mimi, could not be entertained.

Consent was given to the transfer of sec- ion 87, block 10, Ngaire, from John Judd to Wm. Pollard.

R. O'Donnell explained his reasons for removing the cottage on section 2, block 4, Mimi, to section 1. In the I event of a surrender or forfeiture the value of the house is to be deducted from any improvements made by him. The interest of M. C. Lawson in section 4, block 11, Waitara, was de-1 clared forfeited;

T. H. Taylor is to be informed that upon his making the necessary application for section 14, block 8, Mimi, and paying the required deposit by June 2nd, the Board will be prepared to enter'ain his application. Mr. W. King waited on the Board and explained reasons for non-residence on section 5, block 11, Ngatimaru, and although the Board considered the time had long expired, they granted a further extension of three months.
