A PRINTERS' DISPUTE.

Wellington, April 24. The Conciliation Board gave its decision in the linotype dispute this afternoon. The hours of employment remain as at present, viz., 7 hours time, and the rates of pay were fixed as follows:—Day work Is lOd per hour, night work 2s, overtime 6d per hour extra; piece rates, day work 3|d up to and including minion, 3|d brevier, |d extra larger type; night work 3f d up to and including minion, 4d brevier, £d extra for larger type; overtime Id per 1000 extra. The effect is that day operators have been increased from £3 to .£3 17s, night operators from £3 6s to £4 4s; cast up to be en quads; operators to be compositors and members of the Wellington Typographical Union. Apprentices are allowed in proportion of one to four machines and they are to be allowed to go on machines withirv 18 montbs of their full time, but no apprentices are allowed at machines until they have served 4£ years io composing rooms, Matter set by apprentices to be for weekly publications ind supplements. Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, and Labour Bxy are to be rtcognised holidays. The parties are given until the 4th May to sign the award.
