FITZGERALD'S CIRCUS.

The above talented organisation will open in New Plymouth to-morrow evening. The Hawera Slav, speaking of a performance in that town, says:— Almost before the show was lit up there was an eager crowd waiting to secure tickets. As usual with the Fitzgerald Bros., a large number of new circus tricks and other things were introduced, among which was the stirring scene of a tiger performing on horseback inside a largo iron cage, an<i a huge lion mounted on an elephant, which cycled a round the enclosure The Waldorf family gave a wonderful imitation of marble statuary, with colored lights, the different positions being simply beautiful. Rose Acquinaldo, the contortionist, fully upheld the wide reputation she has gained, her feats at times almost paralysing the audience with fear for the clever little lady. The horses were a fine lot and no doubt are the finest trained that have appeared in the colony, while the riding feats of the performers were excellent. Throughout the long programme, the orchestra, under You der JVlehden, discoursed sweet music, and, judgiug by the liberal applause accorded each item, the audience were well pleased, and no doubt when the Fitzgerald Bros, return I they will again meet with liberal support in Hawera.
