Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal, High Commissioner of Canada, and the Australian Agents-General have congratulated the Prince of Wales and the Queen, on behalf of the colonies and personally, upon the Prince's escape. The Queen replied that she fully appreciated a message which spoke for the people of a vast proportion of the Empire. The Duke of .Orleans, signing himself " Your affectionate cousin," expressed his deepest congratulations on the Prince's escape. The bullet fired by Sipido passed within twelve inches of the Prince's heul, and, after ricoehetting on the hand-rest opposite, embedded itself in the sofa. The instigators' taunts at the railway station goaded Sipido to shoot. COLONIAL CONGRATULATIONS.

The Women's Christian Temperance Union Convention, in the name of six thousand women, resolved that heartfelt loyal congratulations ba accorded the Prince of Wales on his escape. Melbourne, April 7. The Consuls of the various European Continental nations have waited on th 9 Lieutenant-Governor nnd expressed congratulatioas upon the Prince of Wales' escape.
