OANADIAN OPINION. (Received 81, 9.35 a.m) Ottawa, March 80. : In the House of Commons Sir Mackenzie Powell said he hoped that Canada would follow the lead of the Australasian colonies in insisting upon bhe annexation of the Free State and Transvaal. The Minister for Justice, in reply. said be was unable to forecast what * would be done, but those views were also entirely his. The independence ef the Republics, he said, had been wilfully forfeited.
