The manager of the Eastern Extension Company has wired the PostmasterGeneral stating if the draft agreement is altered bo as not to prevent the competing with any private before the Pacific is laid, the would agree to Mr. Crick's amendment. The PostmasterGeneral, in reply, refused to consent. fie considered the Eastern Extension's interests would be adequately safely guarded if the Australian Governments guarantee that no terminal facilities will-be granted to any other company before they are given to the Eastern " Extension Company.
