THE POLLARD OPERA SEASON.

This ever-welcome combination is about to visit us once more, and will renew acquaintance with local playgoers on Friday next. The initial attraction will be the first production here of the famous comic opera " The Geisha," of which we have heard such glowing accounts. A feature of the production will be the. introduction for the first time here of a couple of artistes whose ! names are familiar to playgoers in connection with many English and Australian successes. Mr. Pollard has secured the services of Miss Jennie Opie, an actress and vocalist of repute ; and Mr. William Paull, the noted English baritone, who came out to the colonies with Madame Albani, and who has earned a brilliant reputation in the Australian cities. These artistes will be seen in their original characters, as played by them with phenomenal success throughout Australia. All the original scenery, wardrobe, and effects will be staged here as perfectly as it was in Melbourne or Sydney. On Saturday Mr. Pollard will stage his original version of " Uncle Tom't> Cabin," which this Company has performed over three hundred tunes with phenomenal success. On Monday night the attraction will be Audran's worldfamed comic opera " La Poupee," which has caused such a sensation everywhere. The music of this work is Baid to be che most melodious ever written for any comic oper<i, and is said to be even more tuneful than the same composer'b "La Mascotte." The box plan is now open at Gilmout's, and already a number of seats have been secured.
