Cattle.—At Rahotu on Friday, the 2nd inst., the yards were fairly filled, mostly with calves and store cows. Bidding was active for all good young cattle, and nearly all lines sold at fair prices. Calves made 14s 6d to £1 3s 6d; yearlings, £1 6s to £1 10s; steer yearlings, £ll9s 6d; store cows; £ll3s to £2 7s; fat cows, £3 3s; heifers in calf, £3 Is 6d. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday there was a small muster of stock and moderate attsndance, Bidding for caches and all female stock was quiet, and although most of the former were sold piices did not rule high. Good 12 to 18-month steers are re in demand, Dot none came forward. A line of dairy cows, sold without reserve by order of the Public Trustee, made low prices. Small calves made 8s 6d to 14s ; good calves, 15s to £1 6s; 15 to 18-months heifers, £2 2s 6d; 2-year heifers in calf, £2 17s 6d; springers, £3 to £3 sa; dairy cows, £2 to £3 10s; store cows, £1 to £2 10s. MESSRS VICKERS & STEVENS' REPORT. Messrs Vickehs & Stevens report a fair muster of stock io their Inglewood yards on Wednesday. Most lots changed hands, and, with the exception of one pen of ewes aud a few calves, everything sold. Calves, 9s to 18s 6d; 18-month steers, £2 7s to £2 10s; 2-year-old heifers, £2 to £2 9s; store cows, £llss to £2 2s; woolly lamb 3, 4s 6d to 6s 9d;' 2-tooth wethers, 9s 6d to 103; 2-tootb to full-mouthed ewes, 7s to 10s; fullmouthed ewes, 6s to 6s 6d; rams, 10a to £llos. On Tuesday, hides kept late values. On Tuesday, consequent on the drought, the number of sheep was small. About 2000 were yarded. Of these 1500 were sold. Ewes ranged from 4s 9d to 9s eftch; lambs, , 4s to 6s 6d. Those at profit were from £3 to £6 16s each. Fat and jpung calves, short of requirements, brought extreme values. Fat cattle, in average numbers, were better worth. Steers and heifers brought from 17s to 19s per 1001b.; aged cows, 12a to 14s. Prioes for steers were from £5 5s to £8 each ; oowb, £3 to £5 17s 6d (240 sold). Sheep, yarded in less than average numbers, improved In pi ice. Wethers brought from 10s to 14s Sd each; ewes brought 8a to 12s (900 sold).
