Ivor Guest was returned unopposed for PlymouU), in the place of Sir Edward Clarke, who resigned in consequence of being censured for expressing sympathy with tha Boers. Mr. Welby, Conservative, has been elected for the Newark Division of Nottinghamshire by a majority of 229.
