SOAP WORKS AT PETONE BURNED DOWN.

(PEJ); PKBSa ASSOCIATION.] Wellington. February 15. The Flora Soap Works at Petonc were totally destroyed by fire about six o'clock this morning. The fire originated in the upper storey, and had a firm hold when it was discovered. A couple of boilers wore saved, and there was small salvage from the oandle factory. The works were owned by Singer, Maddox b 00., Limited, and were insured, buildings, plant, and stock, in ;be United for £2600 and Guardian £2IOO, both effiues being largely ionsured. Later. The Chairman of Directors of the ?lora Soap Works fixes the damage by he fire this morning at £17,000.
