OnuiSTCUuucn, January 18. A boy named Percy Ilornblow, 10 years of age, was drowned while bathing at buuiner yesterday. 110 was carried away by the current, and the body has not yet boen recovered. Auckland, January 18. A sad affair happened to-day in the premises of Mr. tieorgo P. Murray, dentist, Upper Syiuomls street, whero Mrs. Mary Brown, wife of Mr, F. W. Brown, farmer, of Matakama, met her doath under chloroform while having teeth extracted. M is. Brown intended to have most of her teeth extracted. After about half a dozen stumps had been extracted by Mr. Murray, something went wrong, and tho patient collapsed. Dr. Parkes, who had previously administered chloroform to tho patient, tried every possibly moans to restore animation, buttlmy failed. The deceased was 2U years old, and leaves two children.
