ELECTRIC LIGHT v. GAS.
TO TUB BDirOa, Sir, —In y©ur report of the proceedings at the meeting held to consider the Borough lo.n proposals, I note that several speakers mention our Company and its agreement with the Stratford Borough G uncil for strsst-Jighting, and iu comparing the price per annum they omitted to state that the lamps for which the Company charge X 4 10s per annum to run all night are 32 candle-power, instead of the 9 candle-power as used by theN.P. Borough Council. This explanation is only fair to our Company, and will enable people to make a fair comparison between the cost of the two systems of lighting.—l am, etc., ' J, BULLEIt BAKLEYMAtf, Secretary. P.S.—Comparison of the light itself is not in the story, but for cleanliness, safety, and ease in handling there can be no question, - J. 8.8. Stratford, January 18.
