DRUIDS LODGE ENTERPRISE Friendly Societies Competition i Indoor bowls, a game which has be. come very, popular throughout New Zealand, will shortly be introduced to Stratford through the enterprise of the Druids Lodge. At present, .the Lodge is the only Stratford body which has taken up the game, it is hoped that other similar organisations will follow -their example. The game will be played under rules drawn up by the Friendly Societies’ Bowling Association,, and next week the Lodge will draw up fixtures for competition play. The bowls i*ed are slightly smaller l-han the outdoor green bowl. After some consideration it was decided to play with the Taylor-Rolph bowl; The Druids’ bowling committee appointed to arrange the fixture comprises Messrs W. Rae, W. Whitmill, F. Loose, T. Attrili and C. Pollock. The following members have been selected to play a Hawera Druids team at Hawera on Monday night: Messrs G. Osborne, A. Manning, F. Loose, W. Whitmill, W. Rae, G. Liule. john, T. Attrili and Bi Jeffares. The game has been played at Hawera for some time past and it has become a popular winter pastime, the teams including Post and Telegraph and Railway players.
