Weekly Auction Sale The following prices ruled at Messrs Newton King, Ltd’s, weekly mart sale on Friday: Poultry.—Hens Is to 2e 9d, pullets 3». to 7s 6d, cockerels Is 3d to 4s ducks Is 9d to 4s 3d. Vegetables.—Cabbages 3s> to 6s dozen, 5s 6d sack, carrots 2s to 3s bag, Is small bag, grey pumpkins 12s to 12s 6d sack, red 9s 6d sack, kumeras 8s sugar bag, swedes 2s 6d sugar bag, local potatoes 4s to 5s sugar bag, southern 10s cwt., onions 7s sugar sack. Fruit.—-Dessert apples 2s 6d to 3s 6d half case, 7s bushel, cookers 2s 6d to 3g 6d half case, 4s to 5s bushel. CALIFORNIAN ORANGES. Over 6000 cases of Californian navel oranges were brought to Auckland from Los Angeles by the Mariposa yesterday. The first of the new season’s export from the Pacific Coast, the fruit is stated to have arrived in excellent condition and will be released on the wholesale market today.
