Mrs Ch. Penn gave a small party on Thursday afternoon for Mrs Haselden. * * * Mrs L. J. Rowell (Bank of Australasia) left yesterday morning on a motor trip to Tauranga. * * * Miss M. Squire, Miranda Street, left on Thursday by car for Auckland, where she will visit friends. * * * Mrs A. Coleman, Regan Street, is spending the week-end with her daughter, Mrs E. Buist, of Manaia.
Mrs.' J. Haseldine Is spending a day or so with Mrs Ch. Penn. Portia Street south, on her way home to Timiru from Auckland.
Mrs N. H. Moss entertained some friends at supper on Wednesday night. Those present were: Mr and Mrs. T. Taylor (New Plymouth), Mr and Mrs L. Quinn TEltham), Mr and Mrs Hastelbw (Eltham), Mr and Mrs R. Stokes, Mr and Mrs Coupe.
Mrs R. Strachen, Swansea Road, gave a farewell piarty on Thursday for Mrs Sandorn, who is leaving Stratford to-morrow. The hostess was wearing a smart frock of powder blue embossed chenile. The guest of honour looked well in plum coloured ring velvet. Others present were: Mesdames Baden Bellringer, R. Carryer, T. Brooks, S. MeGregou, N l . H. Moss, F. Bodie, G. A. Carter, L. rt>pe and N. O. Ebbett. Mrs. Sandom was presented with a pyrex caserole and posey.
