PASSENGER SHIP.

Order for Motor-liner Placed. Press Association —Copyright. Melbourne, March 19. Details of the largest passenger liner in the England-Australia-New Zealand trade to be employed by the Shaw Savill and Albion Company were given by the Melbourne agents to-day. The company has placed an order at Waiisend-on-Tyne for a motor-liner of 26,500 tons, carrying 600 cabin class passengers.

The ship is being constructed on the same slipway as was the Mauretania. She will be used on a new service, voyaging to New Zealand via Cape Town, Durban and Australian ports. In addition to ordinary cargo space, she will have 500,000 feet of refrigerated space, including 65.000 feet for the carriage of chilled beef. Iler first voyage is expected to be early; in 1939.
