GROWTH OF COMMUNISM

DANGER TO NATIONS POPE'S DENUNCIATION. United Front Urged. Press Association —Copyright. Received 11.30 a.m. Vatican City, March 18. The Pope, in an Encyclical denouncing atheism and Communism, emphasises the danger to which Communism exposes nations. His Holiness specially refers to Mexico, Spain and Russia. He urges, as remedies, a detachment from worldly goods, and the exercise of Christian charity and justice, especially on the part of employers and the wealthy in recognising the right of workers to adequate remuneration. He recommends a better understanding among Catholic churches, the doctrines of which atone can show the path to civil progress. His Holiness urges Catholic workers to abandon vain differences and unite against Communism. Priests should inspire their parishioners, and the State should assist the activity of the Church by firmness, wisdom and truth in administrtaion.
