Union Leaders Clash with Guards. Press Association—Copyright. Detroit, March 16. Four of the large? t hotels asked 2550 guests to leave and seek accommodation elsewhere and immediately locked the doors as an answer to a sit-down strike of employees. Villon leaders later attempted to force the doors and enter one hotel. 'lCiey wrestled with the guard and a revolver was fired, but no one Was hurt. Among the guests who earlier in the day were unable to obtain meals or other service weie Miss Lily Pons, the opera and film star, Mrs Johnston. Miss Tyrone Power and Miss' Sonja Heinie, the skating champion. KTany went to the’ Windsor Hotel, in Canada. A later message states that GoteFnor Murphy, Michigan, acting as arbitrator, has announced the settlement uf the strike.
