MAN STRANGLES TIGER.

Struggle with Wounded Beast. A villager near Dilrugarh, Atsam, has fought a tiger with his 'Bare hands —and won. The man is suffering from some bad scratches. The tiger is dead. A party of VHYagers were out shooting. They were armed with an old muzzle-loading gun, bows' and arrows, and spears. Just as dark fell, at the edge of the forest, they saw a Royal Bengal tiger. The man With the gun fired. He hit the tiger, but merely wounded it slightly. With a roar the tiger sprang at him and tore him down. Flinging his gun away the mlan seized fjie tiger’s throat with both hands and hung on until the beast was choked.
