Although Herr Hitler’s reply to 'Britain’s overtures with regard to replacing the Locarno Paet in Western Europe has not been published, details from various capitals suggest that, apparently he .proposes' to sub-‘-jtit'utd -the FranccyGermiani nonJaggression Pact for a League baseti on the principle of mutual assistance, proposes to guarantee Belgian neutrality, whereby Belgium will be relieved of its League obligations, and finally proposes to honour France's alliances with Poland and Czecho Slovakia, subject to England and Italy determining whether aggression has been committed agaThst them. The French Press unanimously condemns the proposals as simply the revival of th© Four Power Pact, designed to destroy the League and paralyse France’s Eastern allies'.
