Earl Cromer To Be Lord . Chamberlain. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, March 2. A long list of appointments to the King’s household is gazetted. Among the principal are the folio Wing: Lord Chamberlain: The Earl of Cromer. Lord Steward: The Duke of Buccleugh and Queensberry. Master of the Horse: The Duke of Beaufort. Treasurer of the household: Sir George Penny. Comptroller of the household: Sir Lambert Ward. Vice-chamberlain of the household: Sir George Davies. Private secretary: Major Alexander Hardinge. Assistant-private secretaries: Messrs. F. H. Mitchell and A. F. Lascelles and Sir Eric Melville. Keeper of the King’s archives: Lord Wigrani. Keeper of the priyy purse: Major Ulick Alexander. Financial secretary to the King: Mr. F. P. Robinson. High almoner: Archbishop of Canterbury. Prebendary Archville- is appointed precentor of chapels Royal, and under the heading of medical hpuseihord there are 35 appointments, headed by Lord Dawson of Penn, Lord Horder, Sir John Weir and Sir Maurice Cassidy. The Earl of Athlone is to be constable and governor of Windsor Castle. Mr. John Masefield continues to be poet laureate.
