Melbourne, March 4. Speaking at a meeting of the Lawn Tennis Association, Brookes said he did not advocate the severance of New Zealand from the Australasian Association, but he suggested that the Dominion should forego its claim to have the next Davis Cup challenge match played in New Zealand. In.view of the tact that there were no New Zealand players of the international class available, the defending team would be entirely Australian.

Two members of the British Davis Cup team, Beamish and Lowe, will, arrive in Wellington by the Moeraki from Sydney about loth March for ihe purpose of playing a series of matches prior to their return to England. The president of the New Zealand Tennis A ssociation, Mr. Gore, states that the first match will be against a Canterbury provincial team at Christchurch about 20th March. The visitors will then go to Dunedin/.and play. an.-ex-hibition match against Ollivier, the New Zealand champion, and the bes,6tago player. ■ Returning to Welhngton/they will meet a New Zealand team consisting of Ollivier and Peacock, , on March 27th. A trial match-will-be played at Auckland about April 3rd against an Auckland provincial team.
