EDUCATION BOARD.

The members of the Nelson .JSSducation Board-jesterday visited all the schools in the Inangahua district. The board resumed its meeting in the evening. • The following names of teachers were recommended to various committees for appointment: —Nelson Boys', Mr HoidfCway, fourth assistant, and Mi Sathcrley, sixth assistant; \yestport, .second-' ary>assistant, Mr Graliam, temporarily; Millerton, Mr.s Forley, first, assistant and Miss Forley, second^i^ssista^t ; Neudorf. Miss Parkesj ;^Vainiawgaroa, assistant, Miss McNamdraj Brooklyn, assistant, Miss Cropp; Granity,- assistant, Miss Craddock; Westpo^, assistant, Miss Levastam; Mapua, sole teacher, Miss Woods j Katanga; Mr Watson; Kiwi, Miss Fugei; Wairoa Gorge, Mrs Hall; Cronadun, JVIr ''* Eliery, Jemporaxily.
The board decided to close the Globe School temporarily, the children to attend the Progress School. The ideniraka School will also be closed, Miss Hayes to be transferred to Kongahu. The following appointments .were made:—Secondary assistant, Westport, Miss Snodgrass; head teacher, Wai-uta, Mr Ching; junior assistant, Nelson Boys', -Miss Cheel; head teacher, Little .Wanganui, Mr Simpson. \
The following resignations .were accepted:—Sherry River, Mr Ford; Millerton, Mrs Day; Tahuna, Miss Thorn; Owen. J unction, Miss Nalder;' Granity, Miss Xregurth&.
The board moved a vote of sympathy •with the widow and family of the late Mr Gubb, assistant at the Nelson Boys' School, and 'expressing appreciation of the services rendered by the deceased; and also expressed sympathy with Mr Brown, Westport, on a bereavement in his family.
