PUBLIC BEQUESTS,

(From "The Colonist," Feb. 9th.) Under the will of the late Mrs C. M. Batira, probate of which has Just been granted, various public bequests have been made. After giving certain legacies and bequests to friends, Mrs Batira left: £300 to the Presbyterian Church, TEamatua (midway between Reefton and Greymouth). £200 each to the Public Hospitals at Reefton and Greymouth. £50 each to the Presbyterian Church, Nelson, St. Andrew's Orphanage, Nelson, and the Church o*f England, Reefton. AH the residue of her estate, which, will be considerable, is to be realised and the proceeds divided equally amongst the following:— Church of England, Reefton. Presbyterian Church, Reefton. Presbyterian Church, Ikamatua. Roman Catholic Church, Reefton. Mrs Batira and her husband, both now deceased, were old residents of the West Coasts though the last few years of Mrs Batira's life were spent in Nelson.
