ALDER—MARTIN.

_ February 20th. A vprv pretty wedding took place on the 23rd of January at St. John's Parnell, when Miss Eileen Lillian Martin, eldest daughter of Mrs F. L. Martin, of Dilwortli Terrace, Parnell (formerly of Nelson), was married to j Mr Hugh Alder, third son of inspector 11. Alder, of Auckland. The Rev. Father'Cahill. of Parnell, performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Leo. Martin, of Te Aroha looked very sweet in an ivory crepe de chine frock, made very daintily with embroidered sprays of carnations and a necklace of pearls; with this was worn a handsomely embroidered veil and a wreath of orange blossoms. Miss Gwendoline Martin, sister of the Bride, and Miss Dorothy Alder, sister of the bridegroom, acted as bridesmaids, wearing pale pink silk not and georgette, with hats to match, trimmed with small black velvet flowers and sprays of pink carnations with long black velvet streamers. All three carried charming shower bouquets, the bride's being composed of white roses, lilies, and stephanotis, with a touch cf pink. The bridesmaids wore pink roses, dahlias, and carnations. Mr Leo. Fischer, of Hamilton, attended the bridegroom as best man. The church was nicely decorated by girl friends of the bride, and the Wedding March was played "by Miss Eileen Fischer. A reception was afterwards held at 4 Dilworth Terrace ABoufT 40 guests "were present, the wedding breakfast being tastefully arranged with heliotrope flowers and drapings of heliotrooe. Mrs Martin, mother of the bride, leceived |ho r guests wearing a navy blue taffeta ! silk braided frock, with "black leaf hat ; and large white ospreys,- Mrs Alder, J mother of the bridegroom, black taffeta | silk and georgette, with black tulle hat fnnd black and white ospreys.
