Archdeacon Kempthorne forwards the following abstract for the month of January, 1920, of meteorological obseivations" taken at Brightwater:—
Barometer: Mean for month, 30.32 in; maximum for month (on the 7th), 30.71 i n; minimum for month (on the 24th), 29.60 in; extreme range (the difference between the maximum and minimum), l.llin.
Temperature in shade: Mean maximum temperature, 69.22deg.. TTah.; . mean minimum temperature, 52.84; approximate mean temperature.for the , month. 61.03 ; mean daily range of tern! perature, 16.38; extreme maximum i temperature (on the 9th), 79.00; ex- ! treme minimum temperature (on the j 14th), 41.00; extreme range of tern perature for month (difference Between | the extreme maximum and the extreme i minimum),-38.00. j Cloud: Mean amount for month (0, ; clear sky; 10, overcast) : 5.58.
