NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB,

On Saturday the club fired a championship over 500 and 600 yards range;' also counting for Mr A, iiobinson's trophy. A tricky south-east wind - made good practice for marksmen, especially for those going to the Dominion Itiflc Association's meeting next month. It was expected that a stroiig team would he going from .Nelson to compete'for the ; Championship Shield, but 'at present it is doubtful if one or two of the team will be able to get away. This is to be regretted, as last j'ear Nelson came wit inn an ace of winning, being only ! three points behind.
