_ Experiments .made by Professor -Darnel of Rennes University, in a vineyard near Renns in. planting hybrid vines obtained by grafting North American vines on the native is responsible for the hope of Ot Winegrowing in Brittany. Grape iculture disappeared there forty -years ago when phylloxera killed all the vines u^u were u Proc>te<i and the land on which they had been growing was devoted to other jcrops.
