MINING INTERESTS

Melbourne, Feb. 19. Before the Northern Territory Commission argument took place as to Dr. Gilruth's interest in the Arrino lease and the Da.lv copper mine.

Mr Barratt asked Dr. Gilruth: "Are wo to understand that you were in the Arrino concern or any other out of a desire to develop mining, and not for profit?"

Dr. Gilruth: Put it that way if you please.

Mr Justice Ewing: Why did not you, putting aside..fancy standards, and as a decent, honest man, repav_to tho Government, money advanced nominally to Hone ? * .
