CEMENT SHORTAGE IN SOUTH.

GOLDEN BAY SUPPLIES,

(Special to "Colonist.")

Christchurch, Feb. 19. The Board of Trade has not yet discussed tho cement shortage with Christchurch citizens, but it realises that the shortage is particularly acute here. This is attributed to the delay of the steamer John with supplies, but it has arranged for the cement companies to supply the Christchurch market, and it is hoped that in the near future the urgent demands will be met by the cargo b;. 7 the John from Golden Bay, Nelson. There will 'be only a small quantity in thut cargo, but another vessel with a larger quantity is expected in about ten days.
