KIDSON—CASS.
November 29th. A very pretty wedding,took place at Si. John's Church, Nelson, on Wednesday, the 26th inst., when Alfred JB., elder son of Mr and Mrs jGeorge Kidson. was married to Elsie, only daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Cass. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. D. Patchett. The bride was prettily attired in a frock of ivory crepe de ' chine, with silk shadow lace and georgette overdress and pearl trimmings; she wore,a hand-embroidered veil and orange blossoms, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of pale pink and white sweet peas, cyclamen, and maidenhair fern. Miss Ella Johnston was chief bridesmaid, and wore a' primrose crepe de chine and georgette frock, gold lace and primrose tulle hat, and carried a shower 'bouquet of blue and yellow iris and maidenhair fern. The second bridesmaid, Miss Ineia Kidson, sister of the bridegroom, wore a reseda green georgette frock and a .gold lace and reseda grean hat, and carried a shower bouquet of pale pink sweet peas and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Melvin Cass, brother of the bride, as best man, and Mr T. Teward as groomsman. The bridegroom's present to the bride was an aquamarine brooch, and his presents to the . bridesmaids were an opal brooch and gold bangle re>specttively. The bride's present to the "bridegroom was a set of ebony military brushes. The bride's travelling dress was a tailored navy blue costume, and she wore a navy and emerald hat to match. After the ceremony ,a reception was held in the Wesley Hall, over 100 guests being present, including the grandfathers of both the bride and bridegroom. The tables were tastefully decorated with pink sweet peas and yellow aquilegias. The usual toasts were honoured, and a number of musical items were given. The happy couple were the recipients of many useful and costly presents, and they also received numerous congratulatory telegrams.
