ORGAN RECITAL.
December 2nd. Mr H. S. Claughton gave the fifth of his series of organ recitals in the School of Ivlusic last night.when he submitted^, programme of eigJit numbers, which the audience required to be increased by another at the end of the evening—a token of the enjoyment which they had derived from his playing. The organist's selections were Guilmant's "March on a Theme of Handel's"; "Curfew," a descriptive end-of-the-day composition by Horsman, a New York musician; Bach's Toccato and Fugue in D minor; Guilmant's Pastorale in A major; Wolstenholme's well-known "The Question" and "The Answer" ; two of Lieurance's American Indian melodies, which were heard on a previous occasion; "Theme with Variations" (Rea); and Mendelssohn's "Cornelius March/ Mr Jfl. H. Short, accompanied by Mr N. R.. Williams, sang with success Coningsby Clarke's "Songs of Summer" —"From out the Mist" and "When My Sweet"—and was encored, complying with "The Call of the Wild (Daisy Gooch)..
