Tokio, Dee. 18. Baron Kato, writing in the "Jijishinipo," states that the form and sub«*a*c© of the existing Anglo-Japanese Alliance are not comparable with the League of Nations, but it is not advis&ble *h.at tho Alliance, which, has had groat influence in both countries for
20 years, should he abolished as a mere relio of the past. It is practicable to continue the Alliance if both Powers desire it.
