BATTLE OF SARKAT RIDGE.
(Reuters Telegrams.)
(Received Dec. 22", 0.5 a.m.) Bombay, Dec. 20
The Borajat column from Jandola on the iStli was engaged in the biggest battle the expedition has thus far produced. Sarkat Ridge was held by 2000 Mahsuds, and the entrance to Shahur and the hills westward of Jandola by a mixed force of Waziris and Mahsuds. The enemy was driven from the ridge in the direction of Spinabaikuch and the hills, which we occupy. The artillery and aeroplanes continue to harass the tribesmen, who suffered heavily. Our casualties were slight.
