Everybody by this time should know how the extreme Labour Party stood over the war (says the Wairarapa "Age"). There may be some, however, and particularly soldiers, who' are not aware of the lengths to which Holland and Co. went. Speaking on October 18, IPJB, Mr Holland said:—"lt seemed to him that peace was the world's supremo need—that the time to negotiate was now. The New Zealand Parliament should intimate to'■the Imperial Government that the people of JNew Zealand are in-favour of the discussion of peace terms. They who talked recklessly about refusing to dfiscuss peace until Germany was beaten to her knee's, indulged 'in wild ans criminal bombast far which neither the Labour movement nor the saner elements outside of it could accept responsibility."
