MR ATMORE ATRANZAU.

Mr Harry Atmore addressed the electors at Ranzau last evening, when Mr Webby was voted to the onair. The candidate, in addition to outlining the Liberal policy, said that the criticism directed against such splendid,proposals as those eoutained in the housing soheme. whereby a worker could obtain a good house for a weekly payment of 10s 6d, was the same superficial criticism as that directed against sucn measures as the old-age pensions, advances to settlers, etc., and he emphatically declared that the people would prefer to take the opinion of the Liberal leader on matters of finance to that of any Reform journalist. The Reform party Had predicted that disaster would overtake this Dominion if the Liberals passed certain measures during the time of iiallance and beddon, and the present criticism would be equally futile. 'llie Liberal Party's housing scheme was easily the best before any British public, fudged by a comparison of schemes recently published by an Australian paper. At the conclusion of his address Mr Atmore received a unanimous vote of thanks for what the mover, Mr \V. H. Smith, .«lescribed as a very able npeech The motion was seconded by Mr Ralph Smith. —Communicated.
