THE DROUGHT BREAKING.

RAIN IN NEW SOUTH WALES,

Sydney, Dec. 3

Further heavy rains have fallen in the eastern parts of the State, and there are indications of an extension of the rain to the far west.

The Government Meteorologist states that there is every reason to believe that the drought will be broken this month and will be followed by good supplementary rains. Rains o.f monsoonal character have fallen in some of the coastal districts. Over six inches fell in a few of the dry areas and over two in the wheat areas. With a few exceptions there have been goocT falls, but they will not benefit the country to the extent they would have done if they had been weeks earlier.
