Wellington, Nov. 29. Townsend and Paul, hui., report ac follows on the Wellington fruit' and produce market: — A keen demand exists for strawberries and cherries. Gooseborries and green peas are coming forward in larger quantities, and consequently prices are a bit easier. Nelson tomatoes are beginning to arrive on the market* m larger quantities, and are in keen demand. A large shipment or" American apples is duo hero on December 17th. Apples, according to grades, are realising the following prices :—Stunner extra choice 16b to 20s, medium 13s to 15s, dessert Jonathan 18s to 21s according to colour, Dougherty 18s to 20s, Delicious 20s, inferior grades at relative rates. Pears:—P. Barry 17s to 19s. Potatoes:— lSiew l|d to 2d per Ib. Rhubarb 10s to 12s. per dozen bundles. Gooseberries 6s to 8a per box. Tomatoes: —Hothouse Is 4d to Is (id per Ib. Cherries 18s to 22s per box. •Cherry plums 5p to 7s. Bronze plums 10s to 12a per 'bos. Lettuce 3s per case. Unions:—Market bare. Asparagus 9d to Is per bundle. Strawberries:—JNelson Is 2d to Is 4d, Auckland 2s to 2s sd. Greon peas Is 2d to Is Gd per peck. . French Beans Is 6d per Ib. Passion fruit 20s to 25s per case. Parsnips 15s per sack. Carrots 18s per sack. Cauliflowers 14s to 15s. Cabbages 4s to 6s. Eggs (good demand) Is lid to 2s per dozen. Butter:—Farmers' Separator Is 4d to Is 4*d per Ib. Poultry:—Hens 7s to 9s, cockerels 9s to 10s, ducks 12s to 14s. geese 13s to 14s per pair; turkeys Is'2a to Is 6d per Ib. Dressed pork:—7o's to 100's lid to Is x>2r Ib.
