A LAND FOR HALF-CASTES

The superintendent of Presbyterian missions in the Gulf of Carpentaria declares that the Gulf country is essentially a land for half-rastes. Fullblooded natives are dying out, but the half-castes are virile and increasing. The development of their settlement there will help in the soKiiinii of the question of population in tho torrid zone, which is not fitted for rearing children.
