WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODUCE MARKET.

Wellington, Aug. 29

Messrs Burbidge and Son report as follows on'the Wellington fruit and produce market :■ — Our market has improved for apples, 1 and good stuff realises excellent prices. For a line of Delicious under a wellknown reliable brand we realised 16s 6d per case. Dougherty 14s to 15s 6d, Delicious 13s 6d to 16s 6d, Rokewood 7s 6d to 9s 6d, Rhymer 7s to 8s 9d, Cambridge Pippin and Washington 10s to 11s 6d bushel cases. Pears (practically finished) 20is to 255, biishel cases. Eggs have advanced to Is 8d to Is 9d per dozen. Pork (in keen demand) lO^d to Is per Ib. Butter (wanted) Is 5d per lb. Potatoes: R«d 12s 6d, white 12s per cwt. Green vegetables are very scarce and dear. Messrs Griffiths and Co., Ltd. (incorporating Braid and Wallace), report as follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market:— Supplies^ of choice sound fruit are only moderate, and shipments are recommended. Condemnations are rather frequent again, owing to black spot and San Jose scale. Shippers must exercise every care in shipping to avoid such losses.' To-day's values :—

Apples: Delicious choice 14s to 16s, others 11s to 13s, Jonathan are specially recommended for prompt shipping and are worth 11s 6d to 13s 6d according to sample, Rhymer, Springdale and Rokeivood 8s to 9s, Stunner choice are wanted and are worth 13s to 14s, others 5s to 10s, Statesman 8s 6d to 9s 6d, Cleopatra, Lord Wolseley and Cambridge Pippin 10s to 11s, Munroe's Favourite and Five Crown 9s to 10s for best sizes, Epps's Seedling 6s to 7s 6d, all at per bushel.

Pears: Canterbury cool stored Cole rt&d Nelis 10s 6d to 12s per half-case, Beurre Bosc 8s 6d to 9s per half-case, Easter Beurre 13s 6d to 14s per bushel. Vegetables are in fair supply. Onions are advancing. Eggs, poultry and butter are wanted.
