A peculiar accident occurred at the Cement Works at Tarakoho on Saturday afternoon (writos our Takaka correspondent), happily with no serious results. A lad named Kerr fell itUu ■.the marl bin, a huge inverted cone shaped receptacle into which the crushed marl runs on its way to the elevator. Attempts at rescue were frustrated by the fact that disturbing the maa-1 caused it to run down and submerge the youth, it took some four hours of woVk to get the unfortunate lad from his awkward position, and lit- had a very narrow escape from death by suffocation, as he was completely submerged for a time.
