'. London ', May 9. V: General Ironside reports that the Bolsheviki iieavily bombarded British positions on the river Vaga and at-' tempted two infantry attacks, both of which were broken up.
General Miaynard reports that he cleared the Bolsheviki out of all villages on Lake Segozero. Messages from Riga state that the situation is desperate. The Bolsheviki are treating the civilians.-with horrible cruelty. They placed 80,000 women and children on a barren island in the river. No arrangements were made to1 feed the unfortunates, who are starving. ..-■'.
