(Received May 4, 5.5 p.m.) mr • t." , paris > May 2. -ihe night passed quietly. Two hundred and fifty police were wounded, 115 of them seriously. The civilian casualties are not stated. The crowd used revolvers at several points. One^of the crowd was shot dead at the Place de I'Opera. The injuries were chiefly due to sabres, batons and sticks.
A meeting of the General Confederation of Labour condemned the Government's action. They will meet today to consider the situation. _ The Socialists will interpellate the Government when the Chamber meets
