DAVIES-ERICKSEN.

April sth. A quiet wedding of much interest to Nelson residents was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Masterton, on April 2nd, when Cpl. Ralph Gladstone Davies, youngest son of Mr and Mrs E. B. Davies, Dovedale, Nelson, was united, by the Rev. J. A. Hosking, in the holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Ruby Eva Ericksen, third daughter of Mr C. Ericksen, Mauriceville, Wairarapa. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother^ Mr J. Ericksen, was attended by Miss Pearl Ericksen (sister) and Miss Gertie Morris, while the duties of best man were carried out by LanceOpl. Grant. After the ceremony the happy couple and guests were entertained by Mrs H. T. Wood at her residence, Victoria street, Masterton. The bride= and bridegroom left by train for Napier, prior to their leaving for the Nelson district where Cpl- Davies intends to go in for farming. They were the recipients of many useful presents from their many friends. For some time Cpl. Davies has held the position of clerk in the A.M.P.'s office, Featherston M.C, and prior to. his departure from camp the members of the CM. P. assembled and in a most appropriate speech R.S.M. Blanche presented him witn a set of military hair brushes, as. a'small token of the esteem in which he was held by his comrades..

The wedding of Mr Hubert Kenneth Johnston, of Richmond, Nejson 3 to Miss Elsie Lalie Covil Kinvig, younger; daughter of Mr and Mrs R. E. Kinvig, of ]\tarama-creseent, Wellington, took place this week at St. Peter's Church. Wellington.

Lieutenant H. H. Thomason, M.M... son of Mr H. Thomason-;- formerly of Ngatimoti, but now :df'~'St. Vincent street. Nelson, was married in England" on February 11th last to Miss Phyllis Scott, a da lighter of the Director of Education in Soxith' Africa.
